The original problem was/is occuring because the robot was not yet ready
for business:

Apr 17 17:03:12 intra3 tldcd[17065]: TLD(0) key = 0x2, asc = 0x4, ascq = 0x3, 
LU IS NOT READY, MANUAL INTERVENTION REQ'D

Make sure the door is closed, that it came up in random mode vs. sequential
mode, etc. If you're still getting the same error contact your hardware
vendor and have them take a look.

This shouldn't have anything to do with the drives, or the tape driver
(st).

If sgscan is hanging it is a different issue. David, if one of your sites
is running 3.4, then it is not surprising that the behavior of sgscan is
going to be different than at your 3.2 site, even discounting the fact that
it is going to be accessing different hardware. You should contact support
to have them help you track this down.
