I have Solaris 2.6 on two systems with L9's (an Uotra 10 and a 420R).
Their st.conf entries (courtesy of Sun Support) should be:
"QUANTUM DLT8000", "Quantum DLT8000", "DLT8k-data";
and
DLT8k-data = 1,0x38,0,0x19639,4,0x1a,0x1b,0x41,0x41,3;
