STK is using HP, IBM or Seagate drives. 
I heard that HP drives are good, Seagate drives were incompatible with FC cards 
but now it is fixed.
I personally want IBM drives from STK because they have native FC interface but 
they are more expensive.

What about STK L700 or L80 libraries with LTO drives? Any potential issues
that we need to look out for? I am not sure on what make the drives are
going to be in the libraries. We are about to install some of these soon. 
The L700 would be on a SAN using a SCSI-FC bridge hooking up via Mcdata
switches to a SUN hardware as the media/master server & one Win2K media
server. The L80 would be direct attached to Win2K servers. All running
Netbackup 3.4 & Storage migrator

Generally we have not  had any major problems with LTO drives ( more than
one year), we have 12 LTO drives in 3584 IBM library , using Netbackup 3.4
and also SSO . at the beginning we had some minor issues mostly because Tape
library and drives have 2 different firm ware that need to be updated .
Drive's down and read errors are because of old firmware . we got about
10-31 MB/s for each drives and we backup oracle database about 1GB less than
a minute in average .
