Well, it must do cumulative from last successful full backup, that's all.

Archive bit is used only with "windows" servers, modified bit is used with
Unix server.

So Veritas advice us (http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/244167.htm) to
change this for Bill's server, they says that it's best to use mtime for
backups.

Ok, so if I run a full once a week and cumulative incrementals every
other day, what happens when a full is killed?  Do the backups start
doing cumulative incrementals from the last good full backup?  Do the
files that the killed full backup already hit have the archive bit
reset?  In which case some of the files would be cumulative from last
good full and some would be cumulative from last killed backup.
