you can run "telnet <hostname of the client> 13782" on the different machine
to test. For example:

# telnet spark 13782
Trying 192.168.70.225...
Connected to spark.
Escape character is '^]'.

Connection closed by foreign host.

########## once you hit enter key, the connection is ended.
