[Veritas-bu] Files List

Dave, I wrote a script published in SysAdmin mag to do just that. You can
pick up
your copy at:
http://www.backupcentral.com/mytools.html
and look for the 'chopit' script.
Good Luck,
Hal Skelly

Subject: [Veritas-bu] Files List
Hi,
We back up our servers by specifying multiple streams in the classes that
contain a files list of the high-level directories.
For example,
NEW_STREAM
d:\user1
d:\user2
d:\group3
etc.
The danger with this approach is that if someone adds a new high-level
directory to a server we have to manually include it
in the files list of the backup class. If we don't do this the data does not
get backed up.
Does anyone know of a way to detect if a directory has not been backed up or
have a script which could check the files list of
the backup class against the list of high-level directories? Alternatively,
is there a way of specifying a 'catch all' in the files list
that would include any directories that have not been specified explicitly?
