What kind of media server (Solaris, HP-UX, etc...) is this?
If it's Solaris my first suggestion is to make sure your st.conf file is
correct.

my media manager server mount and does the backupo succesfully, but fails to

eject the media from 9840 drive hence bring it down.same 20 drives are 
running fine on master server.

veritas failed to help

in var/adm/messages, we get 'scsi i/o error'

using mt -f /dev/rmt/# offline doen't work on any server.

any suggestions
