L700 with DLT7000 and LTO drivesHello there,

We at a customer site are using a STK L700 with 3 Seagate Ultrium LTO =
drives on 25 media NT4 servers.

Are you connecting these drives thru a SAN? Then you should only connect =
1 LTO per SCSI2Fibre converter (Crossroads 4150 e.d.) else you will run =
intro troubles. No modification to the .conf file.
You can use the same barcodes, maybe you should use barcode rules to =
direct witch backup goes to witch density of tapes.
Drivers i am not sure of. I have no knowledge of Solaris

Hope this wil help you a bit.

Regards,

Rolf

  Hello Group,=20

We are going to add couple of Seagate LTO Ultrium drives to an =
existing L700 with DLT7000 drives.=20
Could some one point me to some useful information about following:=20

  1. Is there any special drivers required for the LTO drives=20
  2. Any modifications required in the st.conf=20
  3. Any special schemes for Barcode labels and numbering=20
  4. Netbackup configuration for LTO drives on an existing L700 with =
DLT7000 drives, where drives are in the same L700 library but will be =
connected to different servers through differential SCSI.

  5. Any other important step that I am missing from the above list=20

I am using Netbackup Datacenter 3.4 (with patch NB_34_1 and =
NB_34_P0858 ) on Solaris 2.6=20

Thanks in advance and I will summarize.=20
  Shyam.=20
