Tape device driver has been an issue with SGI for a while.
I could trace it back to 94 just discussing my problem with
my manager, back that days he was doing my job.
It took me well over 2 months to get answer from SGI if
any __SAN__ configuration is supported/tested. Eventually
I've got answer __NO__ scsi<->fc bridge was ever tested.
