And I remember a little backup tool called BudTool that had a very nice
feature.  When the backup retention period ended, the catalogue data was
not removed from it's database until it was actually overwritten.  I
know BT didn't actually have a database but this is for NBU
comparison....

So if my full backup from Jan 1st expired on July 1st, it would still be
restoreable and browseable in August *IF* it hadn't been overwritten
already.  Very nice comapred to NBU's expiration policy.
