We keep getting frozen tapes, due to various issues (some hardware, some
unknown) -- most of the time we get status 84 "media write error". I'm
wondering how do we do the following:
How do we verify what is a good tape and what is a bad tape?
How do we get the data off the tape which was written before we got an
error?
How do we know where the bad image starts on the tape, etc?
What is the typical procedure to verify tapes?
Has anyone written any scripts to do these tasks?
Thanks,
David
