David is correct.

To add to it a little...

the media server that wrote the backup will be used to read it during the
duplication. The destination Storage Unit specified with bpduplicate will be
the one to write the copy. If these are different media servers, it will go
across the network from one media server to the other. If you want to read
the backup from a different media server than the one that wrote it, use the
-altreadhost option (similar to an alternate server restore using the media
host override option).

That's one media server to another media server within the Master's domain.
It has to be a server whose storage unit you can access from the master.

I don't believe there is a way to duplicate from one master to another
master in today's product.

A question for someone that uses netbackup's duplication stuff:

the manual states that you can duplicate backups from "One server to
another"

has anyone actually done this? ie, duplicate an image that resides on one
master server to another master server's storage unit..

Thanks

Jon
