Hi,

What you are saying makes sense, except that in our environment I
have observed backups that exceeded the backup window and were still able to
mount new tapes. For example, on the night of December 20th/morning of
December 21st the tc1s0b server backup failed due to a media error and
restarted at 05:35hrs on the 21st. It's class's cumulative incremental
schedule is set to start at 21:00:00hrs on the Thursday(20th) night and has
a duration of 11 hours; it's window ends at 08:00:00hrs Friday(21st)
morning. Here are some excerpts from the log file showing that the backup
continued to mount tapes until it completed at 11:29:00hrs:

We are running NetBackup 3.4GA (unpatched). Does anyone have any
additional information on this?

Thanks.
