I have experienced problems backing up an Oracle 8.1.6 database using the
Netbackup BLI agent for backups without rman in a clustered environment
(solaris 2.8, vxfs 3.4, veritas cluster 1.3).  When I would fail over from
one box to another and attempt a backup it would crash the oracle database
after attempting unsuccessfully attempting to create a storage checkpoint.
In order to get the backup to work and not crash the oracle database I had
to manually delete the old storage checkpoints which were taken on the
other box before attempting a backup on the other server.  Just a heads up,
and if anyone else has experienced similar problems I'd appreciate any
solutions you've come up with or heard about, because doing this manually
is a royal pain.
