Hello,

I'm running NetBackup Datacenter 3.4 with a library with 3 Sony AIT2 =
drives. We're in the process of trying to eek out a bit of extra =
performance out of these guys. Following some tracing, it was =
determined that the network bufer size desperately needed to be set =
higher, which we've done, but I would also like to tune the =
size_data_buffers as well. According to the AIT2 configuration manual, =
the drives support variable block sizes, and in fact for other platforms =
(Digital Unix), the recommend using a block size of 256K. The advice =
for Solaris 8 (my platform) is conspicuously absent though, and with the =
warning about the potential for un-restoreability when size_data_buffers =
is set to high (from the NB tuning guide), I want to proceed cautioly =
with this. Does anyone here have experience modifying size_data_buffers =
for NB 3.4 on Solaris 8 with Sony SDX 500C AIT2 drives? Any advice or =
pitfalls?

TIA,

George
