We have a 3 streamed backup that I want to duplicate.
I issued the bpduplicate command
with the -PM option to see which tapes the backup was
on. I was suprised to find that
6 tapes had been used, 2 for each backupid (output
below).

12/03/01 19:01:29 BU_class serverA_adhoc
serverA_1007406089 serverA 000029 000056
12/03/01 19:01:28 BU_class serverA_adhoc
serverA_1007406088 serverA 000036 000032
12/03/01 19:01:27 BU_class serverA_adhoc
serverA_1007406087 serverA 000044 000020

I looked through the All Log Entries report and
discovered that the first tape is fragment
1 and the second is fragment 2. The Images on Media
report for media ID 000044 also seems
to show this:

Images on media ID: 000044

serverA_1007406087 BU_class Full 2 weeks 21 No No
17/12/01 19:01:27 1 19549312 Rmed dlt 16 4086808
krusty 0 000044
serverA_1007406087 BU_class Full 2 weeks 21 No No
2 25210080 Rmed dlt 1 2 krusty 0 000020

My question is what is the reason for fragment 1 and
fragment 2. In out Storage Unit config
we have maximum fragment size set to 0.

regards

Peter Jones
