How does one list and verify the contents of a tape?

I've used the following commands:

root:abby:/# bpmedialist -mlist -ev D00627

And I have also used the following command but got a media position error.

media position error


Should the number of images in the first listing match the number of files
in the second?

Is there another command to quickly list what Veritas thinks is on a tape?

Is the command: 

bpimmedia -mediaid D00627

If so how does this output relate to the other commands?

Now that I've gotten a media position error, what does NB do with the tape?
It seems to have left it in the drive... Is there a NB command to get the
tape out of the drive?
