[Veritas-bu] NBBACKUP status tapes

Greetings,

My notes on reusing NBBACKUP tapes are:

a. vmquery -m AA3014 <==record pool_number & status (pool number is early
on, status is the last line, remove the "0x".
b. vmquery -deassignbyid AA3014 pool_number status
c. bpexpdate -ev AA3014 -d 0

longer used.  This puts them back into the AVAILABLE status. 
We have noticed a higher number of incidents related to errors
on these particular tapes.  Is it a no-no to deassign these tapes?
Is there another step needed, that I am missing, to reuse these tapes.
