[Veritas-bu] Media errors (status 83)
2001-11-13 05:08:55
Hello,
We have Unix master (Solaris 2.6) with DataCenter 3.2 patch 645. Our
robot is STK 9710 with 5 DLT7000 drives in it.
We had a lot of cleaning requests until the microcode was upgraded to
version 106. Since then we have much less cleaning (by factor of ~5),
but many more 84 errors (media write error), and it seems also that the
backups are slower (could be from the many retries).
I considered asking our H/W support to downgrade the microcode, but now
I'm not sure. I think it should be reported to STK ASAP.
