[Veritas-bu] Status 196

Yes, I believe it does check to see if it is still within the backup window
during tape mounts.
I have seen this many times. A backup is running longer than normal... as you
mentioned, possibly because of a retry after a media error. It will run fine
for several hours, fill the tape and then error with 196 when it tries to
mount a tape after the window has closed.

To continue...
Our NT full backup window is set to start at 18:00 on Saturday and end at
06:00 on Sunday.
Here's what I observed:
Backup starts 7 streams at 18:00
2 of the streams terminate normally
5 streams fail with 174 (another story) at 01:08 then restart
Backup writes two more tapes and after end writing at 08:44, 4 streams
terminate with 196
1 stream, writing to a different tape drive, terminates normally at 08:48
Just a thought, does Netbackup check the backup window end time when it mounts
a new tape?
