Version: NetBackup 3.4
OS: Compaq Tru64 Unix 5.1
NetBackup Master is Windows2000 server
NetBackup Client is Compaq Unix server

We have Oracle running on the unix server and load balancing was introduced.
A virtual IP address
different from that of ficsvr was set up because of this load balancer.
After this, we were bot able
to run NetBackup as the original IP could not be used to access the unix
server. The virtual IP
had to be used.

This posses a problem as follows:

We obtained this message in the dbclient log:

dbc_GetServerClientConfig: NBU's client name= <ficcln> differs from
gethostname()= <ficsvr>

We specified CLIENT_NAME = ficcln in the bp.conf

NetBackup seems to use the UNIX hostname command in the gethostname()
function. This will always
return the server's host name (ficsvr)

Is there a way to get NetBackup to use the CLIENT_NAME rather than that
obtained by gethostname()?

We do not want to change the /etc/hosts entries as Oracle listener and
applications uses the original
entry of ficsvr.
