i am getting a couple of errors and i am looking for common reasons, as well as 
not so common ones, why they might be occuring and fixes that have been helpful 
in the past.

#24: this is occuring on some of our solaris boxes. some of the clients are at 
3.4, some are at 3.2. there is one that will generate this error immediately 
when running a full backup, but will run an incremental with no problem. the 
duplex settings have all been checked and basic network connectivity has also 
been checked. this will happen even its the only backup running.

#54: this is on some of our sql boxes (nt). it began to occur not long after i 
patched our master server to 3.4.1_1. the troubleshooting guide says its a 
network timeout, but network connectivity has been verified. i can telnet to 
the backup port on the clients from the server and vice versa. the appropriate 
db extension is loaded on the boxes. i patched one of the clients to the level 
that the master is, but that has only changed the error msg, which is below.

#2: this is occuring on only one of our sql boxes (nt). nbu is logging on with 
the system account.
