To avoid this during duplicating, I put all of the images from a specific tape
into a file and use the -bidfile option with bpduplicate.  I also use the -mpx
option so the source is read once and duplicated once.

fyi... -mpx option and -altreadhost option can not be used together!!!  This
was verified by support.

It works great and doesn't cause the problems with multiple unnecessary mounts
like you're mentioning.

 I am also running into similar problems but this is with the duplicates. For
each multiplxed image it mounts and unmounts the tape even though there are
still images needs to be duplicated. I posted the similar question and I
haven't got any response.

Any Ideas ?
