Has anybody tried to get backup_exit_notify to run at the end of
all streams for a client?
I want to send a report out at the end of a client backup. I have
to ensure all streams have completed to send one report for the
client instead of a report for every stream.
I was thinking to use backup_notify to create a lock file at the
beginning of each stream and then check for the lock files before
sending the report. This requires a fair bit of care in the case
that some old lock files get left behind somehow, the end job
might never run. Is this a good approach or is there a better idea
out there?
The other approach might be to have the backup_exit_notify
(somehow?) forecast the streams for a client and accumulate them
all before sending a report.
"somehow" could be
check_coverage -coverage -client <clientname>
(this doens't seem to work for Novell target hosts?)
OR
bpschedreq -predict MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS -L
(this only shows you how many streams.)
Any other ideas out there? Anybody else done something similar?
