If anyone cares, it was a TCP/IP patch that did the trick

Hello,

I have never been able to get a SCO client working correctly. The backup
just takes FOREVER,
then runs beyond available window even though there isn't much data (<
20Gb).

I try the following test with a 100 Mb file:
ftp from SCO client:
put works great
get works great

ftp from master (Solaris 8) to SCO client
put works great
get TAKES forever

I checked with Calderra on how to determine if the system is at FULL duplex,
and
they say all indications are yes (apparently there is no CLI to tell for
sure).
Does anyone have a similar experience? Any experience
with SCO?

thanks
Guy

I actually have found the website... very useful stuff in there. What I'm
after is what Legato Networker provides. Under Networker's admin GUI, you
can view throughput to the tape drives in the jukebox in real time as jobs
are happening (backups, restores, cloning). I want to make sure that all
the drives in the jukebox are running full boar when backups kick off. I
want to make sure that they are taking all the data they can handle.

Veritas says that the UNIX box should be able to tell me this. How?
Anyone?

Thanks,
Paul C.

Paul:

Check out my Advanced NetBackup Scripting website
(http://www.xbpadm-commands.com). I have a through put script up there that
will report on ALL media servers in a Master's domain as well as
individually.

David

PS. It doesn't give you per drive thru-put however.

Hello everyone,

I just joined the list, and I've got an easy NetBackup question.

How can I obtain throughput numbers on the tapedrives? Legato Networker
just provides you with the numbers,
however, NetBackup doesn't seem to say anything about device throughput.

Any thoughts and/or help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul C.
