Although I backup files from servers all across our WAN (don't have =
the luxury of a dedicated backup LAN), networks are not the problem. I =
can't even restore files from the master to itself.=20

How many networks are we talking about? Do you have a primary LAN and =
a backup LAN?=20
   =20
I've seen this before and solved it, I'm just trying to figure out if =
it's the same issue?=20
   =20
Send me your bp.conf from the master and the client your restoring =
from and to please.=20

Nothing in the bpcd log ... the relevant entries for the time period =
in the bprd log are in a previous message if you want to look at them.=20

  I don't think it's a security thing, I tried a restore from the master =
to the master and it hangs as well.=20

  >07:35:46 (268457.xxx) Media id CSU110 is needed for the restore.

When this happened to me, it was because there was something wrong =
with my
SCSI bus. My tape library's robotic controller couldn't detect half =
of the
slots in the library. NetBackup, however, didn't know there was a =
problem,
and so it would wait forever, "waiting for media... to be mounted."

I discovered what was wrong by using "robtest" to scan slots.

  Hope that helps
