Another thing you should check is to see if you have linked the Oracle
library to the Netbackup Oracle library which should be located in
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin. I believe the library that you link is
$ORACLE_HOME/libobk.so --> /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/libobk.so If you forget
to link the Oracle library your backups will not work. Looking at the
backup.out log as noted below is also one of the best methods for
troubleshooting problems.

A status code of 1 is not successful. You should get status code 0. Are you
running UNIX? On the oracle server, check the log files, which you will
find in /oracle/app/DB_NAME/scripts. If you're running hot backups, it's
hot_database_backup.sh.out file. Also check logs in
/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/dbclient.
An SBT layer problem in our environment was a library problem. We had to
create a symbolic link from Oracle to the Netbackup API library. See
TechNoteID 233482 in Veritas support.
