Hi All,

I have been trying to get a resolution to my most recent restore problem
involving a compressed export file that is almost 4 gb in size.  I have
worked with a veritas tech trying to resolve this but to no avail.  Here is
the error message that I get when I try to restore this file.  Please note
that this error pops up immediately and doesn't even start a restore
session:

Invalid stat size in 0 0 0 2 984101493 1 2 8388632 1 30
/depot2/exp_stage_001204.dmp.Z 98995903 989959036.

What is really interesting is, if I create a tarball of this file, I can
backup and restore the tarball, but simply can't restore if it is in
compressed mode.  I am beginning to think that my export file might be
corrupted, because I was able to backup/restore some other compressed file
that is almost as big as this export file in question.

Just wondering if anyone out there has had this kind of problem before.  The
veritas tech said that this error has something to do with Solaris not being
able to handle files more than 2GB.  Our backup server is a solaris
(U2)machine, running 2.6.  I don't think this is the case because by
default, solaris ufs filesystem is set to largefile.  This is like hitting a
dead-end and so my veritas case was closed without without any possible
solution.

Any help or suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated.
