Right, but what is the exact command to run on the dos prompt to do the
install with no interaction?

C:\program files\veritas\pc_client\setup.exe -sms -s

Is this the correct way. We are using this one but it's bombing on the
client upgrade. When Netbackup 3.2 is installed and we are running this
setup.exe -sms -s it dies with this error:

hostname: using existing settings
hostname: error- unable to install file c:\winnt\system32\mfc42u.dll

Any idea what this is about? Have you seen this before?

The PC_Clnt install for an NT/2000 client uses an InstallShield
installation.
The .iss file is the configuration file and the switches for any
InstallShield
installation are the same.  The SMS.txt file that comes with the NBU client
gives some information about the settings in the .iss file.  If I remember
correctly, the Veritas Admin Guide for Oracle on NT documents the switches
to
be used in an Advanced Installation section of the manual.

fyi... We were having problems with the setup not using a modified path in
the
.iss file for servers that didn't have a C: drive (e.g. Citrix Terminal
Servers).  If you find an answer to this, please let me know.

The x86 install for an NT/2000 master or media server does not use an
InstallShield installation.  This uses the new MSI installation format from
Microsoft.

I'm looking for the command line parameters for setup.exe to automate the
client install via command line on an NT/Win2K client. Does anyone know how
to do this? I need the command line options for a complete install with out
prompting the user for answers and I also need the options for a uninstall
without prompting for answers. Too bad Veritas doesn't put this info in the
install readme. :- (
