[Veritas-bu] Bad image header
2001-04-18 08:50:34
One of the things that can cause this is the image
being manually 'de-compressed' without NBU *knowing*
about it.
Example:
Images in the IMAGEDB are compressed every X number of
days (default is 0 never to compress) as part of the
global attributes.
An administrator or user with rights, decides to de-
compress one of the images in the IMAGEDB from the
commands line
uncompress IMAGEID
They 'do' whatever they need to do with the file, but
never compress it again.
NetBackup finds that this image has expired, and
attempts to prune it from the DB, but it can't find it
due to a *BAD HEADER*. Which means that the file it
expects to find IMAGEID.Z can't be found.
If this is indeed the problem, simply compressing those
images in question will do the trick so the next time
NBU attempts to prune the DB it will be successful.
This has been my experience anyway.
I hope this was helpful
