Hi Sudheer,

The short answer: A 100mb network will give you a maximum throughput of about
23Gb/Hr. 

But...
The actual throughput will depend on (amongst others):
- Networkload
- Speed of the disksubsystem attached to the Oracle server
- Speed of your tapedrive

You also need to consider that you can probably plan to run your backups
during the night, but what if you have to initiate a restore in the middle of
the day? I assume that you will not be the most popular person in the company
if that happens.

In most cases its probably better just to have a locally attached tapedrive to
the Oracle server, but in a non mission critical environment you can try to
work around these (potential) problems.
