The first thing to do would be to create a bpbkar activity log on the the
NT/2000 client.  On the master server you could create a bpsched and bpbrm
activity log directories.  You might also need a bpbrm activity log as well
on media server, which is probably your master server.

If you are getting 24 socket write errors, there is a strong chance that you
could have a network error.  I received 24 and ?? errors both related to
socket write errors.  Everything pointed to network errors but I didn't
believe that it could be a network problem.  I eventually found out that the
port on the hub was bad for that particular client.  Changed the port and
the backups worked fine.

We upgraded Win98 client to Win2000, and since then MOST of the backups
fail with error 66 (client backup failed to receive the CONTINUE BACKUP
message). Sometimes out of the 4 backup trials - one fails with error 24
(socket write failed). The command 'bpclntcmd -pn' works fine from that
client.

In the reports there is also: 
"<server-name> <client-name> could not send server status message"

We have Unix master and NBU V 3.4. Patch 482 on the client did not help.

Did anyone see this before? Can anyone give me a direction?
