This is the specific situation that the FlashBackup module is good at.  It
is really quick for backups that contain large amounts of small files.  It
should increase your backup speeds, while also reducing the size of your
indexes.  You may want to give it a try.  Alternatively, you can backup the
raw partition underlying the filesystem, but you can't do incrementals that
way.

I have a filesystem on an HP client server that contains 133,xxx files.
The backup is taking almost 12 hours to backup 3.7 GB worth of data.  I
wasn't wondering if anyone had any ideas?  The rest of the server backs up
at normal speeds.
