Yep, using vmchange should allow you to do this or try using bpexpdate.exe
from the command line and either expire the tape using the -d 0 option or
change the expiration date. bpexpdate is the easiest and quickest way.

Is it possible to change the retention level for a volume once it's been set
to 9 (short of relabling the tape)?
