End Of Life Statement

NetBackup 3.1.1 for UNIX, NetBackup 3.1.1 for NT & 
NetBackup 3.1.5 for
NT

Dear Valued Customer,

On Aug 15, 2000, VERITAS announced the  "General 
Availability" of
NetBackup 3.4. In accordance with VERITAS published 
support policies,
the maintenance support for NetBackup 3.1.1 for Unix, 
NetBackup 3.1.1
for NT, and NetBackup 3.1.5 for NT has now expired.

With the release of NetBackup (NBU) 3.4, VERITAS 
Software Engineering
will no longer develop code changes, patches, or 
enhancements for NBU
3.1.1. or 3.1.5.  VERITAS understands some customers 
have not upgraded
to a more current version of the NetBackup.  In order 
to accommodate
these customers, VERITAS is pleased to announce an 
extension of limited
support for these products. Between now and January 
31st of 2001,
VERITAS Technical Support will provide telephonic 
support for
NetBackup 3.1.1 and NetBackup 3.1.5 to customers that 
have a current
maintenance contract. If code changes are needed to 
resolve a problem;
however, an upgrade will be required.

The Technical Support organization will continue 
telephonic support for
NetBackup 3.1.1 and 3.1.5 after January 31, 2001, on a 
time and
materials basis at the then current rates when a 
service call is opened.
Time and materials telephonic support will be available 
until January
31, 2003, at which time all support for these versions 
will expire.  To
insure the highest availability of NBU 3.1.1 in your 
environment,
VERITAS Software has developed a final patch set which 
contains a
complete set of resolutions (bug fixes) available for 
these products.

These patches are available on the 
http://support.veritas.com web site.
A knowledge base for these versions is also available 
at the same
location. These products will remain on the web site 
until January 31st
of 2003.
