have your network guys done anything to DNS?
try this:
from the client
*:\veritas\netbackup\bin\bpclntcmd -self
see what is returned
from the NBU server
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -hn YOURNTCLIENT
make sure the ips are what you expect.
I'd play around with bpclntcmd a bit because this
sounds like a DNS fat finger.
