I was less than impressed with the NT upgrade (Unix
always has gone smooth). While the master server
seemed to go okay, on the media server the
installer 'crashed' on me. Just went away! It didn't
finish the serialization of the robotics and drives and
as well as the last few steps of the upgrade. When I
re-ran the install I had an option to repair the
install, which I did and everything seemed to install.
I did install the lastest 3.4 DataCenter patch to both
Master and Media during this upgrade. During my
testing, I found however that the servers seemed to be
much slower than before (queued jobs, none active).
Jobs were erroring out that were destined for the media
server with a 219 (storage unit unavailable).
Everything was there and it wasn't clear why it was
erroring, but after rebooting the master and media
server (the installer by the way doesn't require a
reboot), the jobs worked just fine.
I'm usually quite positive about NBU upgrades, but this
one had me a bit uneasy, perhaps its just NT.
