I experienced similar problems with an 3.2 -> 3.4 upgrade.  I can say that
Veritas usually tells you that you don't need to upgrade the clients at the
same time as the servers, however, this time it didn't seem to work.
Hopefully with the next upgrade, it will work better.

We are currently evaluating netbackup as a replacement for ADSM/TSM.

Yesterday we "upgraded" from netbackup 3.2 to netbackup 3.4.   After the
backup we encountered problems with the NT clients, and the NT
administrative GUI.  The resolution recommended by veritas was to upgrade
the NT clients to 3.4.

I was wondering if netbackup typically requires an immediate update of the
client when the server is upgraded. We have 300+ NT clients and this could
cause us serious problems the next time we need to upgrade.
