[Veritas-bu] NetBackup and Quick I/O

We are considering converting some of our Oracle database files to quick i/o
for performance reasons.  How does rman (recovery manager) used with
NetBackup
deal with backing up and restoring these files on the quick i/o file system?

In the conversion process our files change from

file

to 

.file
file -> .file::cdev:vxfs:

When we use NetBackup/rman as with our vxfs files, we only seem to back
up the link.  We have a call into Veritas support, but have yet to get an
answer.
Anyone out there have experience with this?

Oracle 8.0.5
NetBackup 3.2
Database Edition for Oracle 2.0.2
