You pretty much saw the whole conversation in that one post.

That's a good suggestion to try the mminfo commands.  I'll try them next time 
this happens.  From the NMC everything looks fine.

I wasn't watching the earlier part of this thread so forgive me if this
has already been covered, but...

This really sounds like an issue with NetWorker not realizing the tapes
are actually in the library.  Does

        mminfo -q near -r volume

match the actual contents of the library?  Also, what does the opposite
query report:

        mminfo -q '!near' -r volume

Assuming your library isn't gigantic, does a forced full inventory of
the library improve anything?

        nsrjb -v -u
        nsrjb -HEv
        nsrjb -IEv
