Batch labeling works just fine.  NW does send the alert "Waiting for a
writable tape for pool xxx" and there are perfectly good empty tapes
sitting there waiting to be used.

I wasn't watching the earlier part of this thread so forgive me if this
has already been covered, but...

This really sounds like an issue with NetWorker not realizing the tapes
are actually in the library.  Does

        mminfo -q near -r volume

match the actual contents of the library?  Also, what does the opposite
query report:

        mminfo -q '!near' -r volume

Assuming your library isn't gigantic, does a forced full inventory of
the library improve anything?

        nsrjb -v -u
        nsrjb -HEv
        nsrjb -IEv

If so, the general management is ok, just that no data will be written.
In this case i suppose that the tapes will not be marked as full. That could 
also be the reason why NW will not come up with an alert.
