I tested tape selection with 7.6, and found that if the primary copy was
offline, and the clone was online, it would use the clone copy without
having to mark the original suspect, or anything weird.

So this changed sometime between 5.5 and 7.6...

Hi!

Yes, this was true in earlier versions. From 8.x up the selection
mechanism
is different.
Networker will now do the recover from any instance that is currently
available.
So if you have the clone tape in the jukebox he will grab that and if you
have a clone mounted with the orignal in the box he will use the clone.

Makes a lot of sense and is how it should have been from the beginning :-)
