This is odd. I recently upgraded to NW 8.0.1.5 (on Win2008 R2). I've
noticed recently that scheduled backup jobs now seem to unload a tape
after they finish, and they didn't do that before. For example, I have a
group that includes 1 client, which backs up my NMC (i.e., it's a savepsm
job). I just ran it; there were no tapes in that pool mounted. So it
mounted one (as expected), but when it finished, it unload that tape back
to a slot in the library.
And I can't figure out why. :-) I never changed the job, I don't see an
option in the group configuration that looks like "Unload tape when done".
(This is all from the NMC GUI; no jobs are scheduled to start any other
way, such as Task Scheduler or cron, etc)
So what's going on? It's not really affecting anything (well, it makes
some of the jobs slower to start, as they have to now mount tapes, whereas
before the tape stayed in the drive, and so was available for use
quicker).
Is it just me?
