Still not browsable. Here's the end of the "scanner -v -i -S"

8770:scanner: fn 257 rn 8466 read error No more data is on the tape.

9000:scanner: \\.\Tape2147483646: opened for reading
9000:scanner: \\.\Tape2147483646: opened for reading
9000:scanner: \\.\Tape2147483646: opened for reading
8761:scanner: done with sdlt320 tape 1127153768

9003:scanner: \\.\Tape2147483646: rewinding

That was the end of the "scanner -i" command, for the one SSID I wanted. 
So I still can't browse it ...

I may have to do a redirected recover of the whole saveset (26G) to 
somewhere else, and then pull out just the couple files I want (once I can 
identify them ...). That will get me my stuff, but I wish I could figure 
out why the scan isn't rebuilding the index ....
