Thank you so much for clarifying how the tapes are recycled and labeled.

I will probably just leave the tapes labeled the way they are and put a note on
them so I know what they actually are. Once I get more time I may clone the 3
tapes that were recycled before I was able to relabel them. I think the tapes
library may have a bar code scanner but it is disabled and none of the tapes
have bar code labels on them. My current plan is to continue labeling the tapes
the same way and maybe later this year I will be able to upgrade the whole
system since I would like to go to LTO5 or even LTO6 depending on if Networker
supports it.

I have been overwhelmed lately doing UNIX tasks. I have to finishing replacing
a hard drive that is failing which I have never done before on a UNIX system. I
am glad it is not the OS drive that is failing. My plan is to use NetWorker to
do the restore onto the new hard drive and then mount it in the location of the
failing drive. Our UNIX admin seemed to have complete faith in NetWorker and
from my experience it seems to work well.
