Hello Teresa,

you can implement persistent bindings for tapes and media changers with udev.
I did create udev rule files based on udev dump.

For Media Changer the file needs to be created in /etc/udev/rules.d and should
look like this:
SUBSYSTEM=="scsi_generic", SUBSYSTEMS=="scsi", ATTRS{type}=="8",
ENV{ID_SERIAL}=="1STK_L700_STKA02H3W02", SYMLINK+="media_changer_0"
After restart of udev, you should have symlink in /dev with name media_changed_0

Best Regards, Steffen

Hi everyone,

We're setting up a new Linux NetWorker server and are having problems getting
setting up the devices. Does anyone have a reference or suggestions on setting
up the changer and tape devices with udev names for persistent binding?

Thanks.
Teresa
