There is no possibility to determine the volume sequence - you can only check
the volume sequence for a certain save set.

This was discussed recently. Just read this thread:
http://www.backupcentral.com/phpBB2/two-way-mirrors-of-external-mailing-lists-3/emc-networker-19/scan-order-when-rebuilding-client-file-index-via-scanner-117979/?sid=833cf1a922f27dd874de9951609592c9

>From my answer:

If you want to determine the proper sequence for a certain save set that even
has more than one 'middle' part, you can use mminfo as well to report the
sequence. Here is an example:

D:\>mminfo -q ssid=4217039090 -r "ssid,volume,sumflags,first,last"
ssid volume fl first last
4217039090 123456 hb 0 5062035
4217039090 123457 mb 5062036 10095219
4217039090 123458 mb 10095220 15128403
4217039090 123459 mb 15128404 20161587
4217039090 123460 tb 20161588 32060499
