Yes, this works great.

Just make sure the client is also in the hosts file of the NW Server and any 
Storage Nodes it may re-direct to.

I have a Networker client that's not in DNS but have the Networker servers,
storage node, etc. in the loal hosts file, will this work or does it still
need DNS entries, it's a W2K8 client.
