We use ddboost and don't have the symptoms you describe. One thing to keep in
mind is that your space won't be reclaimed until the cleaning job on the data
domain runs. You would have to look at the data domain gui to see how much
space is actually going to be reclaimed.

Like Stan, my environment is 64-bit Red Hat Linux, and a DD690, but I don't use
DD BOOST.
DD mounts are over NFS.
nsrim takes only a couple of minutes to run for me too so definitely worth
getting EMC involved from the sound of things.

My environment is 64-bit Red Hat Linux, so it may not match up exactly with
Windows, but nsrim runs daily on my NetWorker 7.6.1 server too, as it should.
From start to finish though, nsrim only takes a minute or two to process all
ten of my Data Domain mount points. I use Boost too, but I doubt that would
make any difference because Boost only comes into play when the backups are in
progress and it moves the de-duplication service off the Data Domain system and
onto the NetWorker server or storage node where the Boost devices are mounted.
You might need to do some system tuning on your Windows box or in how you've
configured NetWorker to use your Data Domain system. I encourage you to give
the good people at EMC tech support a shout by opening up a PowerLink service
request to have them work on this issue with you.
