Your info is somehow contradictionary. On one hand you say that there is no
space problem but you also say "... so that our backups can continue."
- If the device has been filled (and AFTD is not set to 'full') then you must
abort the backup because the process locks the device/media.
- If the device is not busy, there should be no problem. But it is hard to
verify that files actually have been deleted because they are hashed and nested
in the subdirs.
- The best way to find out would be via the Windows device properties.
